I know there was a thread about this while back, but for all those folks wanting to eliminate their catalytic convertor on a 3rd generation, you need a O2 simulator to keep the check engine light from coming on. Well, I found a company that makes them for our vehicles:

Even though it is for a Supra, I asked him months ago if it would work for a 4runner, and they were testing it at the time. Finally, a couple of days ago, I got a response saying that it will work for our vehicles. I'm not sure about 1st and 2nd generations, but you can email him to find out.

You still need to make the straight pipe to replace the space the Cat occupied, but that's easy work for a muffler shop.
