Newbie Introduction

New member here with a new truck. Thought I would introduce myself.

Picked my new 2003 Tacoma X-Cab SR5 V6 4x4 TRD on the 5-19. Put 1500 miles on it already thanks to the 3 day weekend. Love it. It's my first new vehicle, thank you Toyota Motor Credit for the 1.9% rate making it possible. I was looking for a 3rd gen 4Runner 5spd with low miles. The prices were so high it was cheaper to buy the new Taco with the low interest rate. And, now I have a warranty.

Previously had a 95 4Runner and a 84 FJ60. The 4Runner was a bad buy, but the FJ60 was and is great. Sold it to a friend.

The Tacoma will be getting a spray in bedliner and topper. Planning intake and exhaust mods. Going to put in an Amsoil air filter this week. Thank you Gadget for the K&N/Amsoil comparison writeup.

Congrats on the new truck.

Good thing my wife doesn't read this forum, because 1.9% financing for a new Tacoma would be too tempting for her!!

that's nice! I like how they kept the same body style. I wish they didn't change the 4runner body style, but oh well.

Me too. No offense 4th Gen owners, but they don't do it for me. The dealer really wanted to sell me a 4th gen V6 SR5. They were coming down WAY off sticker and offering 1.9%. Maybe a year from now I'll get used to the 4th gen and wish I'd done it...

I agree on the body change. I love the 3rds style so much more but I do like how much space is inside a 4th. I also dont like the dash/gauge look in the 3rds. They should have updated them for at least the 2000's and up.

are they digital? i dont like digital speedometers. i like to see old fashioned needles. I just wish they had a better cluster on the dash for air/heat and things. I like that 360 button configuration in the 4ths.

they aren't digital. they are just three separate round pods set deep. the odometer is digital though.
