Hi Folks,

I posted some new pics of my 4Runner and did a little bit to improve my website. Take a look and let me know what you think.

All the pictures of the modifications are thumbnailed on one page.

how about some pics of the runner doing some real things. J/k, I didnt know husky liners was a mod?? how about a button to get back to your main page from the mods page?? Thumbnail of only the top pics work. Oh yeah, did you get those front mud flaps after removing the running boards. I'm trying to look for those flaps that will work with my body cladding. Keep up the good work.

I know - the 4Runner should be on some mountain pass with one wheel off the ground. As for the mudflaps, I did get them after taking off the running boards. They are about $20 a piece from the dealer (or at least my dealer).

Can you get the item# for those mudflaps from your invoice??? My stealer is having difficulties finding the product, he can only bring up the one NOT for the cladding up on the computer screen. Thanks again.

Did you put yours on yet? I am going to have to take all my fender flares off and Forever Black them so that the mudguards aren't all black and shiny next to my faded black fender flares.

How did your look?

Mine seemed to match well. Here is a picture.



I also did the fender flare edge trim from Jalabar and it makes a HUGE difference on the look of the rig. It was cheap and easy and if your taking the flares off anyway, I think you should do this mod.

How about a head's up on what trim you bought and how much of it you got? I know what Jalabar said get, but my stealership was saying I should use something else. What did you use? Was it the part # from Jalabar's tech write up? DId you actually get (5) 5ft lengths? How much cutting did you have to do? Any other info would be helpful.

I got exactly what Jalabar's tech write up said. There is quite a bit of cutting to fit the flares, especially in the rear, but it is very easy. Just a matter of taking your time. I cleaned the edge of the flares thoroughly with alcohol. The pharmacy had some prepackaged alcohol swipes that worked well. It has been over a year since I added the edge guard and so far no problems.

How much cutting per fender flare? Did you do like one long piece on each flare or was there a lot of piecing together? What about where the mudflap goes onto the fender flare? DId you cut two pieces or do one long one?

How about on the back? Same thing?

One long piece for the flare, a second shorter one for the rear mudflap, and another for the part on the door.

The site looks pretty good. If you are looking for some cool html codes go here http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ All you do is copy and paste the coding into whatever program you are using (Dreamweave in my case), its very easy to use and looks sharp. I used quite a bit of it on my webpage.

I had some questions about your hood scoop. What all did you need (like just the hood w/scoop or other brackets as well). Also where did you buy it from? And how much did it cost to get painted? Anything special about the paint such as rock chip coat? thanks, nolan.

From the dealer, I paid $184 for the hood, $124 for the insulator (which does cut the noise down a little), $75 for the scoop/bulge, another $25 or so for misc. cushions and bolts and then $325 to get it painted. Roughly $700 total. Nothing special on the paint as there was only one paint code for my color (anthracite). The body shop thought they would need to blend the front fenders to match the hood, but it turned out that it matched perfectly without blending. Blending would up the cost obviously. I just looked at carpartswholesale.com and they had the hood for $148, don't know if it was oem though.

What I did was buy one part a month for six months and then had it painted. Seemed much less painful on the wallet that way.
