New lift and shoes for the Taco
Just got some pics after the shake down run on the new suspension, tires and wheels. Took some before, during, and after pics. The ride has been improved 100 times over the spent Billies, and reverse arching rear springs. The BFG's grab like crazy in the deep sand out here. Thought i would share the results.

Thanks guys! Yeah the first set of tires were way small. Gas milage isnt that bad-21 to 22mpg around town...gotta figure it was off with those tiny tires to begin with. The power loss isn't that noticeable vs. a stock set up. The tire size i chose was pretty close to what "should" have been on there stock 31x10.50r15. I will say this though, way less wheel hop with the bigger tires and suspension. Before, the back end was all over the place with the little tires and shot springs. The lift components are listed in my sig., but i mostly used TRD fJ front springs(money saver), bilstein 5100's all around and OME in the rear. The rear should settle a bit more. Still has that factory rake on it, which some like...im not that partial to it. Now i just need to track down a camper shell and some armor...it never ends.

thats pretty much exactly where i want my truck to be, on 31x10.5's and just a few inches of lift

they are hard to find, especially if you want a 5spd. Mine looks just like his, it took a month of searching and the closest one i could find that was a 3.4, trd, 5spd, extra cab was over 100 miles away. then i found there others that were 200+ miles away

Lift measurements
ThunderOne,
I had the chrome in the garage so i went with it. I like the all black look to. Might paint the caps and get some black lugs eventually.
atistang,
I measured the front at 2.5" of lift and the rear is sitting just above 3", going from the center of the hub to the center of the fender well. The rear should settle to about 2.75"-2.5" though. As far as total clearance to the rockers, i got around 5.5" switching from street tires and throwing on the lift. A much needed off road improvement. The GF complains about getting in the truck now. Guess that justification for getting some sliders.

Haha I know exactly what you mean. I have pretty much the same truck. Just got a 2.5in lift all the way around and put 32s on it. Now my fiance complains that she cant get in as easy and she thinks its stupid. I think she is legitimately mad at me because it makes it harder for her to get in. Once shes in it though she likes the way it sits high.

atistang,
Yeah i need to find a taller GF, poor girl is only 4'10". I pieced the lift components together from different vendors over 6 months. I saved a bunch by buying when sales were available and i scored on the front springs. The fronts came with the take off FJ shocks and were $40 shipped to my door. Sold the shocks to my buddy who has a FJ for $30, so almost free. Total including shipping about $900 for the suspension gear. Thats including the small stuff like a ext. brake line, bushings, diff drop(still need to put on), BPV bracket and u bolts. I found a killer deal on the wheels and tires too. BFG's were $90/ea shipped to my door from tirerack.com...so i got a full set of 5. And the cragars were about $70/ea shipped. All in all not bad for the end result.
