New Exhaust system installed finally (pic very heavy)
New Exhaust system was installed this past weekend. Man am I glad I payed someone else to install the headers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got quoted for 5 hours took 12 and this guy knows what he is doing. I did take some extra steps though, I bought extra gasket material for the crossover pipe and had some springs left over from the OBX headers I never installed. The TRD headers come with springs and locking nuts for the collector pipes but not for the rear cross over pipe which has been known to leak. I wanted everything to be spring loaded and locked up so they could not pull apart and leak. I also doubled up on all gaskets the whole way down and back to the tail pipe and used a load of RVT copper silicon gasket sealer. Did I over do it maybe But I don't ever want to go back and try to replace or repair anything by not doing it right the first time! Also if you have a California emission 4runner with dual cats and plan on installing TRD headers do not buy a direct fit cat for the front you will be cutting it up on both ends and having to weld on the TRD flange to the front of the cat. Buy buying a universal should save you 1-200 dollars depending on the brand you purchase.I purchased catco which are the most expensive. ok I have to many pics so I have to cut it down to 11.
