Break in period for new brakes and rotors?

I need to change my wife's front brake pads and rotors. I bought some regular vented brembo rotors and new pads after I read a few threads here on the subject - I was going to buy some slotted or cross-drilled rotors but bailed on that idea after reading up on it. I just wanted to know if there was a break-in period for new brakes/rotors? How long? How should I tell her to drive? I've done new brakes plenty of times but I never thought about a break-in period. :pat:
