New 4.0L and Tranny Help

Okay, I'm not a 4Runner guy and know nothing about the new 4Runners but want to get some questions answered. How wide are the frame rails of the new 4Runner compared to the old one? Also, if anybody has the 4.0 and a digi cam, could you get some pictures of the engine mounts and the components of the engine and how it is situated in the engine bay. Some basic measurements of the basic shape (LxWxD) would be great too if anybody wants to really help me out. Also, last but not least, anybody have any information about the 4speed auto tranny?, is it a brand new tranny or the same as used in the older 4Runners?

If you are wondering, I'm planning on swapping it into my truck down the road and I want to know what I'm gonna need, don't want to buy a tranny if the one in my truck will bolt right up (damn that would be nice lol). Don't ask why not a supercharger cuz I'm gonna look for a blown or damaged engine and rebuild it and do some fun stuff to it. I'm in the research phase right now so don't expect results for awhile lol

I would suggest that you
read the 4runner history on
this website, but read only the info
on the 2003 runner. I read it a while
ago and I think it mentions that the
4.0 V6 uses the same auto trans...
not quite sure tho...

I think it might be a very long while
before you find one of the new 4.0's
out there in need of a rebuild.
one of the current supercharges
would give you more horsepower than
the 4.0...for the time being anyways.

The tacomas are probably getting a new
design for 2004 or 2005. I hope they do
anyways, especially with that new V6.

Yeah, I know a charger would be better, but I'm making this a slow process. Its not gonna be something I do overnight. As for the engine, like I said, in the research phase. Ive seen an engine or two on car-part.com so they are out there, just gotta track one down. My dad works for Toyota so I can get parts pretty cheap to do the swap and rebuild if needed. I figure if I swap this engine in I won't even lose alot of money cuz I could sell my current V6 for a pretty penny when its all done.

I just talked to an old Toyota dealer on TTORA, he said its the same 4 Spd ECT tranny...so we'll see.
