need some ideas on mounting some switches and gages in an 84 PU
right now i just have the gages kinda rigged up where the factory radio was at. i also have a switch for my fan but i will be adding a switch for backup lights along with 2 switches to control my winch. anyone have any pics of how they mounted some gages and switches like i'll have. i've got 2 pieces of aluminum that i'm thinking about cutting so that they will cover the hole where eveything is at right now and mount them in it. what about some gage pillar pics if anyone has any of them.

sure you don't want to have a radio? As far as switches I'd recommend the lighted flip switches that are common, as they only require a drill bit to mount. Otherwise, companies such as Painless Wiring have nicer panels with switches already built in. As for myself, I couldn't live without a radio so I may have some different preferences. I run a 98 4Runner, a pic of the dash might help for suggestions...

yes, i have a radio that will be going below the switches. the switch that runs the fan is lighted. for the winch i will have 2 switches. one of them will be an arming switch with a cover. when i flip it on it will power my in/out switch along with a red l.e.d. that will be mounted by the arming switch.

As for gauges i have a setup similar to Gadget.

I only have three mounted below my aftermarket stereo, and not the other three down in the pocket. As for your switches, Why not just wire your Aux reverse lights up to the stock ones with a relay? then you won't even need to add a switch. They'll come on whenever you go into reverse...
