need quick answer on driveshaft swapability

3rd gen 4runner, specifically 96-200 that came with the 4cyl... are the driveshafts the same as the 6cyl, and are the auto and manual's the same as well? i am in a bind and need to find one, but almost everything out there is for the 6cyl, auto. i have a 4cyl manual.

thanks

Driveshaft is not the same for the 6 and the 4, you need to find what fits your truck.

Not sure about swapabililty, but is yours completely shot? I thought I needed to replace mine on my 2000 a few moths back, but after my mechanic took it to his buddies shop, it turned out that it was just bent and the U joints were replaced, along with the driveshaft being remachined to make it straight again.

it is shot. the slip yoke is apparently bad (busted up the seal and the shaft on a few rocks a while back, and while teaching my gf how to drive it, she dumped the clutch with an aweful ping/clunk/TINK sound. sure enough, upon inspection, the only place i can recreate the sound is at the yolk. a rebuild up here is apprx. $300. i just found a driveshaft with 11k miles on it for $115 shipped. problem should be solved tomorrow.

thanks again for the super fast replies! i appreciate it. it was one of those "now or never" type of deals.
