Hows it going? I have been looking around and this has to be one of the smarter mature forum i visited, but anyways i also have a problem...
I have a '95 toyota 4runner with 75kmiles. My tires are going bald and i need some new ALL-SEASON tires. What im looking for is a better ride and handling, but durability is also an issue so i know i have to forfeit some handling to get it. so where should i start? more specifically what brand should i be looking at, if it makes a difference. I have the optional tire size of 31x10.5-15. TIA, as you can tell i have no idea what to do when it comes to SUV.
The two i have been looking at which was suggested by tirerack was:

There are lots of threads on here about the tires, that being said I just put on REVO's and love them. Search around for more opinions. Hope this helps.

If you want an all-season tire, and not an all-terrain, there is only one tire I would consider, the Michelin LTX M/S. I put 72,000 miles on a set, and they weren't even worn out then.

My advice would be somewhat different from those above. Does it rain a lot where you live, does it snow? Are you planning to go offroad? - things like that will narrow down the choices of a good tire for you. From your question it sounds like you don't have any specialized needs. For normal everyday driving, "tires is tires." Pick one - it doesn't really matter - that's why there are so many out there... If your budget allows, buy a nice tire like the Michelin, if you're on a tight budget, go to Walmart and get a set of their house-brand tires. For going back and forth to work every day you will never notice any difference. Pick a tire from a manufacturer you think you like, or pick a tread pattern you like, but there is no "brand should you be looking at."

Ditto on the Deuler Revos, but my guess is that in order for anyone to make a really informed opinion, you need to be more specific about what you want. I'd also follow the advice above and do a search for "tires" on the site, because there are many, many threads that I found helpful when I had the same question as you...

Also, Tire Rack has owner reviews on their site, which can be interesting. Read a lot and discount the oddballs...

well thanks for the inputs and suggestions and after extensive research I have decided to go with the Michelin LTX M/S just because i do any off-roading and since i live in NJ i see bad weather only during the winter, and from what i read, it seems like it will hold up fine.

I've had the Michelins and I have the Revo's. Revo's win hands down, bar none. In my humble opinion.
