On My third coil

I'm about to install my third ignition coil this year in my 91 V-6 4Runner. I have a hard time believing that I got one from a bad batch each time. Something else has to be burning these things up. What could it be? All other systems seem to be checking out okay so far, but the coils have all tested way out of spec. Any ideas on where to start looking? TIA.

Whats the condition of plugs, wires, rotor, cap? Are you buying new or used coils?

All other ignition components are new, or only a few months old. The first coil that went bad was the original unit, the other two were/are new aftermarket units. Charging system has tested okay, and the battery is 5 days old. Thanks for the replies.

Thats probably your problem right there...."AFTERMARKET".....try a toyota coil....it shouldnt be that much more than from an aftermarket parts store....anyways, toyota parts are the best parts you can buy....
