My new truck - PLEASE MTV, PIMP MY RIDE!
My new ride:
Sorry for the bad quality. I took the pics with my phone...
With 3 vehicles my garage is nearly full!
Its a 1985 Toyota Mini 4x4 with a crazy list of options:
EFI, Xtra Cab, Automatic transmission, Sunroof, power seats, cruise control.
Old Toyota 4x4s are EXTREMELY rare here in SC and I just saw this on the side of the road the other day and knew it would be mine. Been looking for starting point for my latest project for a while but could never find anything even remotely near my area, damn the beach!
Anyways I picked it up for $1000 bucks. It was one of those transactions where I thought I was ripping the guy off and he probably thought he was ripping me off. That is how they all should go. It had 166,830 miles on it so it is still a baby for a 22RE. Blue book puts this truck over 2 grand
Got the battery warrantied yesterday and changed the oil and it runs like a dream. Today I am going to replace the alternator because it is not putting out enough juice which is what took out the battery. Also on the list is the cap, rotor, wires, plugs, axle gear oil, ATF, wipers.

nice find, I hope it didn't sit for very long, my buddies 88 22RE sat for 6mths, then my other buddy bought it. After two weeks of driving he burned up the crank bearings...

All that aside an engine sitting for a while is not great, but does not automatically lead to crank bearing problems. I just can't make that leap with you...

OK, I should have also stated that seals were gone too... But that's what happened, the truck didn't have more then 120K on it, and my buddy was relgious with taking care of it, one owner. The only problem I have with him is that he bought a F150 instead of a tundra

They were not.
The optional 8 way adjustable driver seat (sorry, passenger) was awesome though.

I still can't get over all the rust that so many of you have to contend with.
No one around these parts would ever buy anything at any price rusted out like that. Sucks to have to deal with it I bet.
