my justification for Wet Okoles (~450kb in pics)
There are questions about seat covers pretty regularly, and Wet Okole is always mentioned. Obviously, they are pretty pricey, and people always ask if they are worth the money. Here's my justification...
Went mountain biking yesterday after work. For those of you that live in the northeast, you know now rainy it's been this spring/summer. So clearly, the trails were very sloppy. I brough home about 2 lbs of mud on my body, and at least twice that on the bike. Here are a few pics, though they are about 45 minutes after the ride, so much of the mud has dried and does show in the pics very well. So as usual, the pics don't do the mud justice...
I let the mud on the Okoles dry, then brushed the dirt/dust away with my hand, and rode to work on them this morning (in work clothes). I'm riding again tomorrow night, so they will probably look worse after that ride. Saturday morning I'm taking them off and throwing them in the wash.

My impression...
FUGLY!!! Probably pretty high quality though, if they are constructed the same way (process/materials) as the traditional W.O.s. But man, I think they are awful looking - but to each his own... it's not my rig.

I have yet to make up my mind about them, but I was leaning towards the more subtle look like black w/ tan piping. I just wish they had a color that more closely matched the oak color.

Kevy, they can get pretty pricey... just a quick glance in my Performance Accessories catalog shows $259.00 for a front set... and that doesn't include any of the extras you can order...
Check out http://www.wetokole.com
Of course, you can probably find them cheaper than Perform. Accessories, too.

just a suggestion jacksonpt, my seats covers were so hard to put on, there is no way you could get me to take them off and put them in the wash, and then, try and put them back on a second time. if i ever wash mine, i just use a wet cloth and soap or the wet okole shampoo you can order, and do it that way. i just dont think i would wash them like that. and for all of you that are thinking about it...unless you get dirty, from mountain biking, or wet from surfing, or anything else that gets you dirty or wet, they are well worth the money. if you just want them to look cool, there are other things you can buy with that money. the only thing with mine is that when i got them they were blue, and they are now a dark shade of purple. other than that, they are a great price for what you get, and what they do.

I have a set on my 85 4Runner, front and rear. Same color as the ones in the pic, minus the TRD logo. I called Wet Okole directly, and actually talked to the guy who made mine. Early 4Runners came from the port without the back seat, so he needed to know which one I had. I use my truck on the beach, ALOT. I surf fish the SOBX, so I tend to get kinda wet, and sand follows along. I also get pretty muddy when I am throwing my cast net for mullet and shrimp. I have no complaints about the seat covers at all, except they can get kinda hot. The small of my back get sweaty, but nothing like vinyl covers or leather. Dirt and oil wash off easily, sand brushes right off, and my seats dont stay wet all week like my Tacoma did. 275.00 with shipping from Hawaii if I remember right. Fit like a glove. Good customer service too.

I bought mine used so I don't know too much about them...
are they detergent safe? They're really faded as they are and I'd like to preserve as much of the current color as possible.
Thanks!
