My Friends 81' Yota Rolled Off A Cliff (Video)
Me and my friends are out in the forest wheeling with a 81' yoya pickup and a 82' pickup on 38's. We are going up this hill after one of the toyotas broke an axle, so we only have one truck left for 5 people. So we get to the top of the hill and he jumps out to celebrate becasue his truck was barley making it up (engine probs). So he is yellin and stuff, and then his ebrake pops out and goes back in (he left it running in neutral becasue if he turned off the engine it wouldent start again) so its starts rolling down twords me with no one in it and he jumps in through the window head first trying to press the brake with his hand but he cant reach it. The truck starts picking up alot of speed with him dangling out the door. So we are yelling at him to get out becasue he would surely die if he stayed in it. So he says fxck it and jumps out and right when he jumps out is when my camera turns on and starts recording as I run after it down the hill. Notice how it takes the turn in the trail perfectly as if someone was steering. Pretty crazy. We had to walk about 2 hours thru the forest to get back to civilzation. Came with 2 toyotas left with 0. All in all a great day of wheeling
pause it when we are looking over the cliff where the truck went off, the look on my friends face is priceless.
We did go back the next day and clean up all the trash from the truck and about a week later strapped my Jeep another yoda and a F250 together and dragged the carcass out of the ravine.
Im glad I left my Jeep at home that day.

Ha ha ha! That was the funniest thing I have seen all week. Glad nobody was mamed in the process. Humility in action! I feel kind of bad for the guy in a way, I mean we have all conquered a hill or rocks, to have that happen though right after a short celebration is just ˟˟˟˟in funnay.

Glad no one was coming up the hill behind you guys! Looks like it was going 30-40 MPH down the road.
Glad everone was OK. Also that you recovered the mess.
If you had tools, ya might have been able to swap the rear ends and driven out.

Thats really sad... Im sorry to see that.
Looks like you guys were in pretty high spirits though, and no one was in that!!! Sheesh.
Glad to hear that you went back and cleaned up. The area looks nice.
Back to the drawing board for your friend I guess...

I don't mean to doubt you MendoZJ, but given that you're brand new here and this is your first post, can you do us a favor and tell us something that would make us know this is your video and not a pickup and repost from the 'net?
The last time this was posted, folks had a number of questions to ask. It'd be awesome to have them answered!
Thanks!

I remember this video several months ago. In fact I believe I have a copy of it on my other computer.
Glad no one was hurt. Man that wouldn't have been pretty if a rig was coming up the hill.

MendoXJ is me but now I have a ZJ (grand cherokee) so I changed the name a little. I post regularly on Jeepsunlimited.com and I posted the video on that site right after it happened. I wouldent doubt it has been posted here before, It is all over the net now. Ive posted it at alot of 4x4 forums casue I think its so funny and stupid. Ive been lurking this forum for a while casue im a closet toyota lover and decided to register. Im down to answer any questions you guys have. Anyone got a link to the earlier post of this vid on here, it always cracks me up to hear peoples reactions, I to can laugh at our own stupidity.

Man, I've been looking for the original post but I can't come up with a decent set of keywords to search on! And the forum won't search on links... maybe someone will still have a link to it.
Sounds like it's time to say "good to meet ya' and welcome to our neck of the woods"!

I think it's buried in that huge thread with all the vids under trail reports. I was looking line by line but got bored.
Happy Hunting...
