My 2002 4Runner SR5
I joined this site 13 years ago when I was in high school driving a 1992 4Runner sr5. I went from that to a turbo maxima, to a 350z to a supercharged 4Runner....lol
How she sits as of 10/2/16
I bought a 2002 SR5 in 2013 with 180k miles for $5k. I wish I would have done more research - but all I knew at the time was I wanted a newer 3rd gen with 4x4, fender flares, no leather, and decent mileage/price. If I were searching again, I would have definitely tried to find a supercharged / rear locked 3rd gen. Oh well.
This is a photo of my first time taking it off road (very mild) @ Slaughterhouse Gulch in Colorado - 2013.
I learned the hard way to not go snow wheeling solo
Her evolution...
September 2015 - Lift + Tires
January 2016 - SCS wheels
March 2016 - Satoshi grille + Addicted Offroad Front Bumper
April 2016 - Winch + Rock Sliders
June 2016 - Savage Rear Bumper
July 2016 - TRD supercharger
My goal is to continue its lifespan to 900k miles. I want it to be a reliable 50/50 off / on road brute with capabilities of recovering, camping, towing, hauling ass & overall comfort. My transmission sometimes will whine very softly...other times it's normal.
I want to set a goal to see as many 4x4 trails in CO, UT, PNW...etc
I finally have modded her up a bit:
MODS:
-TRD gen 1 supercharger + tensioner
-URD 2.1" pulley
-ToyTec Boss front coilovers
-ToyTec Superflex rear springs
-ToyTec lca bushings
-ToyTec cam bolts
-ToyTec panhard drop
-ToyTec front diff drop
-Total Chaos upper control arms
-Fox 2.0 rear shocks
-New OEM LBJs
-New OEM tie rods
-SS brake lines front & rear
-Brembo Tundra rotors
-231mm Tundra calipers
-WeatherTech mats
-Burtman LED tails

-Gibson catback exhaust
-Stealth Custom Series f5 wheels 3.5" bs
-Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/16 tires

-Pioneer 6.5" speakers
-JBL 12" sub
-THULE M.O.A.B. elite
-Addicted Offroad front hybrid bumper

-Bay Area Metal Fab rock sliders
-Lotus trailing arm skids

Dear 10PSI,
You have a nice 4Runner, and you have done some wonderful modifications. Do you live in the Pacific Northwest? I live in the Pacific Northwest, and would love to talk to you if you do. I left you some contact information in your mail box. Oh yeah, my wife and I have an old stock muck stock 1999 4x4 Tacoma V6 5-Speed that we use as the house fix it truck. Our old house has a lot of issues so it is used quite a bit on the weekends.
Take it easy,
Paul
P.S.
