all i know is that if the motor is bad. be prepared to spend $250 on a new one. Make sure you get one with a warranty.

What year is your truck? Does the window move at all?

One advice: check out ebay. I've seen a couple of those motors around there.

Skip the motor if it is bad, buy a used tailgate and paint it.

it was 250 for a new one....and I don't think it was an original part, somethin else, but It came with a warranty, don't remember how long. When it comes down to it. Its worth it rather than searching ebay or junkyards, since you'll spend way more time than its worth than taking it to a shop and letting them fix it.

Pull the gate trim and metal cover panel. Unplug motor and jump it with 12 volts. Change polarity to reverse direction. To pull regulator assembly disconect wires, latch & lock rods and lock cables. Remove the four 10mm bolts, slide towards passengers side and tilt to lower into gate. Slide from side to side to disconnect from glass channels, unplug wires from glass and remove. Remove regulator assembly by tilting top up as you slide towards drivers side. Most common trouble with regulator is worn out / missing nylon wheels in end of arms. Check teeth for wear, when removing motor be ready for spring loaded arms to fly up when motor gear disengages. Used motor is $20.00 to $40.00, complete regulator assy $30.00 to $75.00 depending on condition. Can be replaced in 15 minuets if you have done the job before.

What "does not do a thing"? If you are referring to the entire truck, then yes, a fusible link would be susepct, since almost *everything* electrical on the truck (outside the starter) runs through the fusible link. If you are only referring rear window, then continue on down the troubleshooting steps.

I recall someone on here changed their motor with one from a Camry. I'm not sure if it was left or right side but I think one side was mentioned. Try a search.
