more starter problems?
I replaced my starter a week and a half ago because it was getting to the point where it would click 90% of the time when I'd try to start it. After I got the new starter on it was starting every time untill a couple of days ago. Now it's starting to click occasionally. It took me about 30 tries to get it started at the coast yesterday. I read in some old threads about this being caused by the bushings, and I've bought new parts that ended up being defective before, but before I pull the starter again and take it back to the parts store could there be something else wrong with my truck? I don't want to get an exchange for something that might not have had something wrong with it in the first place.

I too would check the cables. Toyota starting systems are so simple, it couldn't be much else besides the starter or the cables. I'd start with cleaning your battery terminals and the ground connections. If that doesn't work, yank the starter. If you can do it without breaking some anti-tamper seal, take a look at the contacts inside the solenoid. 90% of the time, the 'my starter is clicking' syndrome is burnt contacts. They should be new in a new/rebuilt starter, but we know this isn't always true.

Thanks for the info people. I checked my cables and they are in really bad shape. There's a large exposed section that's covered in corrosion, so when I get paid again I'll replace the cables and see if I have any more problems.
