I am considering replacing both front strut assemblies with Monroe's Quick-Strut 171351. I have an '02 4Runner Limited with 130K. The only off-roading I do is the occasional dirt road en route to a campsite, so I don't need anything too aggressive.

I am not the most mechanically inclined, but can find my way around most projects (ie. just replaced my 02 sensor from info gathered on this site. Worked great).

Has anyone used this pre-assembled strut? Do you have a step by step guide with pics for this project? It would be a great help.

Not here to bash Monroe but I personally do not read good things about their products lasting.

It pays to have a professional install struts. Not saying you can't do it, but the folks that do it all day long every single day know a lot of tricks that you'll have to discover on your own.

You'll need an alignment afterward of course.

This is not true. Alignment settings are in no way touched during the R&R of our front struts.

That said, I would stay away from these bargain-basement strut replacements. Factory coils and a fresh set of Bilstein shocks will serve you much better.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've been searching around a little here, and haven't found a definite answer. Will I need to redo the alignment after I replace my front shocks on a 95 Tacoma 4x4? Thanks everyone!
