MODIFYING REAR COILS ON 2nd GEN
Ok, heres the skinny. I got this free set of procomp 4" lift coils (rear). I only want to lift it 1.5"-2". I realize that I have to chop and level the top coil (big end) with a torch. My question is "does anyone know the lenghth of a 2" spring?" I also know that spring rates affect alot of this whole thing. Also How do you crank up the front tortion bars. Any special tools needed. THX in advance.

I have the Downey HD rear coils, I think they only stood about an inch over the stockers when they were set next to each other during the install, (2-inch lift coils), most of the lift comes from the spring rate.
The torsion bars are a cinch, i dont remembert the size of the bolt but it is big and obvious right under, you can follow them from the a-arms. just crank both sides an equal number of turns and look, and measure, in small steps til its where you want it at.

Ahhh, torsion, not tortion!!:pat:
The thing with the downey coil is that they are much thicker than stock. Mabie I could try 2" higher than stock and go from there. Let me ask you this. Can you measure from the center of your wheel to the top arch of your wheel well? That will tell me approx how much lift I need.
