Misfire code for cyl #3 ...............
The truck threw a blinking CEL two days ago. OBD2 reads a cyl #3 misfire code. It runs like it's missing a cylinder; no surprise, I guess.
I plan to check/replace plugs and maybe the coil pack in cyl #3.
Any other recommendations?

I changed the plugs (Toyota OEM NGK). I now throw C0300 (random), C0303 (cyl #3) and C0304 (cyl #4) misfire codes.
I have photos of the old plugs - really bad looking. #3 looks a little whitish, am I correct or imagining a possible head-gasket leak?

No overheating. I have yet to perform a compression test on a deeply mounted spark plug hole. My guess is I'll need to get an adapter of some sort.

problem solved
I swapped coil packs among the cylinders. The problem followed the coil pack originally in cylinder #3. replaced that coil pack, runs like a top.

That is what happened to mine. It was cylinder #3 also. Swapped coil packs and found the problem in the other cylinder so I repaced the coil pack and problem solved.
