Mileage on 2.7 vs. 3.4 4wd
Hello all,
I'm looking at getting a '01-04 Taco 4wd auto. Do you folks see much difference btwn the 4 and 6 cyl? And what kind of numbers are you getting?
And was the Locking Diff avail on the 4cyl for those years?
Any other tips on what is good to look for?
Thanks

I have manual 1996 SRS V6 with no mods at all. Best I have gotten so far is 17 in town and 23 on the freeway. Freeway time was 65-80 and I have the 4.10 rear end. 210,000 miles on it.

I have a 2002 4x4 single cab with the 2.7L and 5 speed. It gets around 24 miles to the gallon, much better than my '88 4runner with the 22r-e. Plus, the 3rz has a ton more power. If you try to pull out in traffic with it, your going to spin a tire whether you want to or not. Of course, that's with 31 x 10.5 tires. Good Luck!
