I almost changed my mind, thinking it COULD be real, but after watching the "video" that is supposed to be the same jump, looks like there's about 10 extra feet of height in the pics that aren't in the video.

I agree...the the truck in the video doesn't look nearly as high as in the pics. But it could be a different jump cuz theres no guy under the truck in the video.

You wanna see some real flying Toyotas, Rob has some pics in this thread, and a video.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...threadid=10989

Also be sure to look for Gene's slide show in the same thread.
Both the vid & slideshow rock!

I watched it a few times.

Call me crazy, but I think that jump was real. The shadows and the angle he landed at seem to jive with the shots in the air.

The first two shots would be pretty simple to photoshop, but the last few where he's landing would be much tougher.

The video was definitely of a different jump. The woman wasn't standing there taking pictures and the guy wasn't laying on the ground.

Looks like the real deal to me. He didn't nail it in the vid like he did on the pics. That's some HUGE air!!

I think that jump was real and the video and pictures are the same jump. In the video, the guy was standing on the ramp, so he never got much higher than that, plus he was standing up.

in the pictures, the guy was near the landing, so he was lower and saw more of the underside of the car. he also may have been squatting

I was looking at some of the jumps that stock taco owners were doing in the link to that other thread that Watrd hosted. WOW. Doing that would HURT in a 4Runner....my 4runner has caught air one time - NEVER again.

(btw - if you are headed west on SR-70 here in FL and go to cross US-41, there's a REASON why the speed limit is 35 and not 55 like I was doing....)

hehe... there's a water drainage system that cuts right thru my city, going parallel to our north/south streets. it crosses our minor west/east streets. each time a street goes over this drainage system there is a slight elivation over the drainage system. the speed limit on these streets are either 40 or 45, same all around town.

one time i was driving on that street in my dads camry and i knew it was coming up. i punched the gas and got the 4 banger up to 90, flew over the hill, and it was an experience like no other! craziest thing ive ever done.

i did it again a few months later.. almost lost control. will never do that again

anybody notice, I don't think the guy had a skid plate and I swear that's the bottom of his radiator hanging down where his missing front bumper should be. I think if it was real, he wouldn't be driving too far after he landed, but he sure would spill some coolant. but I know it's bs.

The pics and the video are different. Maybe the same jump, but he got much bigger in the pics. Look at the landing and you'll see.

2 jumps

Yeah, definately 2 jumps. I think it was real -- both times. That frame-to-beam suspension is a piece of work though! I can't imagine what that would be like. I can say I'd be scared $h!tle$$ though!

I'm still not sure whether it was real or not. All I know is that it looked like lots of fun. Sign me up.

What nobody noticed is Craig (the owner of the truck) does not have A-arms I assure you all it wasn't photoshopped, this guy launches everywhere he goes.

As for his suspension...nothing short of cutting off his IFS and stuck some equal length I-beams (older Ranger suspension) and a 4-link underneath. Must be nice

Could very well be real. Perspectives can be decieving in pictures. I have an old picture of me jumping into a lake off a 20 foot high rock, but for some reason it looks like 80 in the picture! I also have a poster of Mika Hakkinen on my wall aparently about 2 feet off the Suzuka GP track in a McLaren F1 car. Other perspectives show it to be closer to 2 inches.
