which lights to get?
look at this:
that TJM is just begging for some lights. but, on the other hand that purty grill is the cat's pajamas.
so...i want to get some lights up there, but ones on the small side.
besides the grill, i just dont like the look of big honkin lights.
i want to add some driving/fog lights up there. i'm guessing their primary use will be for night wheeling. secondly, for added visibility during inclement weather. thirdly, to screw with people who screw with me. jk, maybe.
so if you have some relatively small lights that would work well with a TJM, show me what you got. or offer some suggestions. i'm looking for exact model names here people. nuts to searching tried that, that's why i'm posting.
think there's anything at an autozone/pepboys/etc that would work? or is this something best bought online? another constraint is that i'd like to keep this mod under $100.
i'm gonna wire these up using the wires and swich for the factory fogs that came with my runner.

I can't remember who it was but there's someone who's got an avatar pic of a runner with grill guards and the smaller style PIAA fogs on there. Would you consider going that smaller route?
Don't forget there's always the more rectangular approach - that wouldn't obstruct your grill as much as the full circles. That and they're multipurpose:
If I could afford them I'd go for the ones directly above. You've got your fogs and your driving lights - just awesome!

ooh... check these out:

I like the Hella 500's. They're about 6" in diameter and you can usually pick them up at you local Pep Boys or AutoZone for around $75. They're all plastic so no rusting and you can get them in fog or driving.

i'm sure it's great for you guys, but i don't like. peter's are on the right track, but i'd like to see what else is out there. l33t35t: you've got some good lights, what kind are they?

What are you looking for as a price range? In my opinion the best bang for your buck that I have found so far is 6" Stainless Pro Comp 130w for around $60CDN ($40US) a piece. I love mine and they have a good beam pattern. On the other hand if money isn't as much of issue then the best lights that you can get would probably be a set of Lightforces. The beam pattern is ajustable and you can buy covers in various tints. IMO all of those pretty lights (PIAA etc.) that people have posted pics of so far are for princesses. They are decent lights but cost far more then they are worth.

Okay, I know who it was now. It's member Lee. This thread currently going has a nice overall pic (for relative size):

Charles, Optilux has a pretty good variety of light sizes, maybe you should check out what they have?

charles actually pm'd me on this, but fyi for everyone else, i have optilux 1000s. only two little issues on them:
1) they actually did leak, but i was warned on this about smaller fogs in general and was dumb enough not to try to seal them. they are now sealed with silicone and its been zero problems since -- and we've had tons of rain!
2) they arent for people who NEED extra light. they just help out the headlights a bit and are more for looks than for light, imo.
im sending charles a pic tonight of the light they project viewed from the drivers side window, so ill post that up here as well.
