license plate pannel romoval
ive got a 97 limited. My license plate pannel is a little worse for the wear. on the top of it the pain is chipping. plus i recently took of the 4runner badge and i have three holes from the badge as well as "sunburn" form where it formerly was.
my question is, how do i remove this, so i can re-paint it.
anyone?

You'll have to take off the back/interior cover in order to access the bolts that are holding that in. The back panel cover is held in with a bunch of clips and one bolt I believe. That one bolt is covered with a cap where the strap hangs on the panel. Use a flat head screwdriver and a cloth and slowly pry off the cover off and you should be able to access everything there. Hope it helps...

THAT explains it. i tried to take off the back pannel a few days back and the pressure locks came out but i did not think to check under the strap.
