its a federal law that says you must have working cats... so in fact there is an emission law everywhere in the US.... there is no reason not to have a properly working cat... otehr than stupidity

If you don't feel that it's necessary to get a cat nothing anybody says on here will convince you otherwise. It *is* however, a matter of personal responsibility and accountability to everyone else on the planet that's breathing this air.

Besides, I got a Magnaflow cat off of Ebay for about $50 and I likes how shiny it is next to my rusted old Flowmaster

EDIT:
Oh yeah, I'm loving my headers
I don't like the fact that whatever the hell was painted/coated on them are peeling off but the power gains are welcome

I have NWOR headers and my exfather-in-law has LCE and we both agree that mine performs better. I also have a hollowed out cat and i pass emmissions so if its good enough for the state than why complain?

Why keep asking these questions? Air injection was put there for a reason, to attempt to keep the air clean. Put the air injection manifold back on if you want to be legal and responsible to your fellow air breathing humans. If you've hollowed out your cat, then I suppose not putting the air injection system back on isn't going to matter to you anyway. But for reference, removing the air injection system will result in higher CO and HC emissions (particularly when the engine is cold) and will probably foul your catalytic converter faster.

re: the cat flanges - just weld them shut. Most effective way of sealing it off.

are you seriously going to try and put RTV on the cat flanges?!

my friend has an lce header on his truck... the fit and finish is aweesome its brand new though... i cant tell what his exhuast really sounds like yet... its a whole new lce exhuast.... header back to the tailpipe behind the tire.... he has to wait until he breaks his new lce engine in before he can open up the throttle.....

Quick Reply: lce header
