Kick down transmition cable adjustment
Does any one know what is the proper way to adjust the kick down (or valve body) cable.
That goes from throttle body to transmition on 96 4Runner 4x4, auto. I took mine off to put throttle body spacer and I want to make sure that this cable is positioned properly.
Thanks in advance.

Sure, check out this thread. It's not the way the manual says to adjust it, but after doing this mod, I guarantee your transmission will hold up longer, because it reduces the time it takes to shift, and therfore reduces the heat buildup that is the number one killer of trannies.

Thank you, for this info
Thank you very much. It is great info. But I am not going to go to extreme and adjusting it all the way to the left. Thank you again.

You can play with it to get it to shift as hard as you can stand it, and then leave it alone. The shorter the shift that you can create with that cable, the better in the long run for the tranny. If you need anything else just let me know!
