Just to quickly confirm : Curt hitch fitment.

... To someone who already have experience with Curt Round tube hitch for 3rd Gen 4Runner....

sorry for another hitch question. But just want to make sure before placing order (or to be mentally prepared.... )

About to order Curt Round tube hitch from JC Whitney at $149 (wow! free shipping) JC's part number is ZX287027F

1. Does it easily fit to 1997 4Runner SR5 4WD ? are all holes lined up correctly? Or does it need any modification/grinding etc?
2. How is it shipped? in a box or just bare tube with a lot of scratches ?

Thank you in advance.

I've installed this hitch before, it went on exactly how the instructions called out. As a matter of fact the instructions called out for a half hour to install, but it was done in about 20 minutes. There's no drilling required, all holes are already in the frame.

One thing I forgot to mention. There are tow hooks bolted to the frame that will have to be removed. The hitch uses the same holes to mount.

Thanks hitchman

I already ordered "draw-tite" round tube hitch (class iii) from etrailer.com
I just ordered "whatever available hitch at the time" from etrailer.com as etrailer carries also the custom wiring for 4runner also.

If jcwhiteney were to carry such custom wiring, I would have ordered curt.

Have a great day!
