ractive air intake

Air intakes
I just put on a ractive air intake it has a sheild over the filter and you can adapt a snorkle to the end of it which is a plus.
Here's a example how the filter looks with another hose attached:

http://www.ractive.com/ACCRI_index2.html

It cost me about $50 for the filter and adapter plate for the toyota AFM. I am going to also make a intake tube for it using a 3" exhaust tube and have it bent to fit my truck in place of the old one. I still have to permently mount it up it is tied in right now with zip ties to keep it from laying on the fenderwell.

Man it sounds alot better I do feel a slight increase in HP not alot but it is definately there.

A few pics of it installed:

Please ignore the zip tires they will go away when I get the AFM bolted down so it doesn't flop around like it currently does.

This one I tempoarily put a breather filter on it until I get my air tube made to replace the rest of the intake tube.
It will probably look like this one or I'll make it out of PVC and heat wrap it.

I wanted to take the ISR mod a little further by doing the intake too. Well I kinda did it backwards but you know what I mean.

For the ISR part of this I decided to get a generic aluminium intake tube for $30 it costs the same as using a peice of 45 deg schedule 40 with all the fittings and stuff.

Well bought a univerisal aluminum intake tube it has about a 22.5 angle in the center of it so it fits pretty good. I also go the silicone attachment sleeve fittings today hooked it all up and voila my cold air mod is done. It sounds and feels awsome. I think I got alot more HP from doing this mod. It's like night and day I would love to see how it feels with a overbored throttle body and some cams.
I'll get some pics up this afternoon.

Ok here are the pics of it:

I plan on changing the breather on the valve cover and putting it into the intake tube again to do this I will drill another hole in the intake and put a 1/4 NPT fitting on it. The other larger tube for the AIV I am not sure yet I think I might just use the breather on it I have for the valve cover on it and extend the tube and put it on the firewall all it does is suck in air on startup and cruise.

I don't care what anyone says putting this on you still will retain your low end torque. I think it is way better than the stock intake that was on it.
