Just Ordered MT/R's
I decided I finally needed new tires after putting 30K on my TSL's. I loved the way the TSL's performed off-road, but once I got on a wet or icy road I was all over the place. Anyways I did some checking and found that Goodyear is offering a $75 cash card for purchasing MT/R's at certain places. Discount is selling 33x12.50 for $190 with lifetime balancing /rotation /etc.
I figured:
$190x4=$760-$75gc =$685 Total
685/4=171 per tire - Typical $20 M&B = $151 per tire

Good choice. I've put a couple thousand miles on my 33's and love them. I just drove 300 miles to school and the tires were very quiet. They've done great off-road as well.

I have Goodyear MTR's now and love em for the weather up here. Only thing is that they are not all that great in icy or wet conditions. I grew up in Louisville (just east of boulder) and owned a 84 yota pickup with All Terrain Tires on it. I worked up at Eldora and had to drive in some pretty hairy weather and the tires did great. If you are looking for icy/snowy/wet pavement performance, I'd say go with some all terrains. But on the other hand, MT's are alot more fun offroad!

if he's not there, he may be up at the new discount tire in longmont, i've seen him there a couple of times. but it's worth the 20 minute drive to save $35 a tire.

Just thought I'd mention, they price match for tire rack that is true, but they do match apples-to-apples.... Discount Tire's online price includes shipping to your door and warranty and all that, America's Tire online price includes mounting and balancing as well (same company.) Tire rack charges extra for all that stuff. The guys at Discount/America's Tire will match TireRAck's price, but only the REAL price.
Cubuff figured it right. Tire rack is $155, plus (depending on where you live) $20 or more per tire, plus you'll pay anywhere from $10 to $20 per tire for local m&b. That's at least $185 per tire. The Tire rack doesn't offer a road hazard program for this tire (but would charge you extra if they did) but America's Tire includes lifetime balance and all that good stuff. TireRack has great ads, but not usually the best deals when you add it up.

The Tirerack deal worked. It ended up being $710 for all four, mounting, balancing, etc.
$710-$75 GC = $635
$635-$80 mounting & balancing= $555
$555/4=$138.75 per tire final price.
I also painted my rims today.
