There's a constant little rattle noise I hear coming from BETWEEN the overhead console (where my HomeLink buttons, drop-down sunglasses pocket, and front seat lights are) and the windshield.
It sounds like a wire tapping against the side of the console.
Anyway, do your manuals explain how to remove the console? I'd love to be able to get in there with some strips of foam rubber to quiet things down.
Thanks!

funny how i got the first 2 vol's from the same guy too!
i didn't know there was another 2 more vol's... dang!
but i think the other 2 vol's are for the v6 model since going thru the first 2 vol's it has nothing on the v6.
I think for all the v8 members, the first 2 vol's should be fine.
I've found everything I need so far just having the 2 volumes, so I won't be looking for the other 2...

Daytime Running Lights... I got screwed and had to get that option. My deal er wants $75 to turn them off.
It's like driving around with your parking lights on.

here is a dumb response before i even look why dont you just remove the bulbs?? or are the same lights also used for something else?
Im searching the isnt much info on this but i have found that there is DRL Relay no i just need to locate it. If it was altered to always off you should be able to disable it. Anyone got any input?

Yeah, I posted awhile back to remove the plug connector going into the DRL relay. I THINK it's the aluminum-looking finned cube about 3" X 2" X 1" sitting behind the main fusebox and in front of the master cylinder. Question is, will that also disable the directionals that use the same bulb? Too lazy to try it myself, but believe it'll work.

if that hole circuit is removed like you say the turning signal will be disabled as well here is the diagram below of the circuit
this is the circuit that seems to control the turn signals and drl
If im thinking correcting there should be a constant power feed to the drl relay. If you could find this source that completes the drl switch and disconnect it, you should be able to disable the drl and still have the turn signals work. Your gonna need a voltmeter, some trial and error and some time to do this. You need to find the circuit connection that is only powered when the car is on and that is only part of the drl. Another option would to make your circuit like the one without the drl installed

Thanks I'll try it out when I get time. I appreciate you taking the time to look.
Heck, the local dealer doesn't even know... They said they would have to fax Toyota. They thought it was in the wiring harness though.

the radio is easy to remove....
but if you want to change it you're gonna have to get a head unit adapter because the stock unit is abit wider than the aftermarket single din or double din...
http://www.americaninternational.net/
These guys just released the new 03 radio install kit... I just ordered from them directly this morning and should have it by tomorrow! hopefully I'll finish the install and have some pix up for all of ya!
Basically:
1: remove center console - 2 parts where the shifter is located... all of em use clips - just give it a nice pull and it'll pop off
2: remove driver side panel attached to radio console( 2 clips only)
3: remove screw found behind center pocket under a/c control
4: pop out a/c unit (4 clips - 2 on top 2 on bottom) just give it a nice pull... (was scary at first but easy and won't break anything)
5: pull entire front center panel (silver piece that covers radio/ac etc etc)
6: radio is attached via 4 screws - 2 on bottom - 2 on side
7: remove radio
8: make sure u have the AI install kit to install radio w/
9: reattach everything n you're done!
PS: hopefully impulsebrklyn will have the pix up for ya for some idea on where the clips are if you're abit hesitant. I gave it a firm pull on every part that's attached and it all popped out w/o any damage to the clips. If you've played around cars b4 then you won't have any problems !
I hope to install my amp in the back passenger panel... some cutting n pasting will be required but i'll figure it out!
