I had to glue a plastic loop on the inside and use bailling wire to tighten mine up. That was fine but later I just took them off. Looks a lot bigger that way.

Mine also started to fall off.
I solved the problem by throwing the running boards in the garbage.

Mine are cracking too. I guess that's why you guys 'upgraded' to sliders. Where to get those BTW?

take em off the fun way. head up to the local trail and find some rocks. then rub up against them and hear the sweet sound of the running board removal mod.

If you really have to leave them on, yuk. Then just use black automotive tek screws. They are black with a wide flat head and are self tapping. Re-screw them on the inside of the fender and screw one in at the spot where the cap overlaps the running board. It will look like they belong there and last a lot longer than the clips inside the running boards.

sorry bout your back. thats gotta suck. I took mine off and with 7 inches of lift its a pita climbing in esp on ice. i put sliders from stubbs on and still a climb but is nicer and looks sweet and fully functional.

Smitty Built makes chrome and stainless tubular running boards that are very stylish. I actually considered buying some myself. Kinda spendy though, sepecially the stainless ones.

Callmej75, They fit fine. I just drive in a straight line all the time. Yah I know I need a lift, cant take a sharp turn on an incline. no problems on the street though. To make em fit you need a big hammer and a saw, you probably need to do some trimming even with a lift.
