Issue 2 - Auto Tranny doesn't hold vehicle
At a stop, heck, even in my driveway, when facing uphill in drive I will drift backward unless my foot is on the gas.
I know the tranny is 8+ years old and that I should expect some wear on the bands and clutches but my question is... Are the bands adjustable? I've benn searching (possibly for the wrong terms) with no Toyota related results.
I hesitate to flush it, to many risks discussed. And, it's under warrenty for 2 more years (yes I ponied up for the drivetrain warranty on this as a used purchase). However, the warranty really only covers a failure. If things are not adjustable, I'm driving untill it blows

depends on the driveway or the hill. Some rollback is absolutley normal. There are no bands as far as I know, and if there were, they are certainly not adjustable in a toyota tranny.
If its under warranty, why not flush it? Flushing helps more often than hurts IMHO, especially such a new truck with low miles.

My driveway is not steep. I've had several toyota trucks, 1 was an auto and didn't have this issue, but I bought that one new and only kept it 2 years.
As for flushing it, I think to have any hope of maintaining the warranty, I'd have to have the dealer do it (it has lots of ifs/ands/buts/exclusions), but the fluid needs to be changed anyway.

Yea my tacoma rolls back to depending on the grade..once the a/c idle up kicks in sometimes it would move forward on the same grade. It wont hold much of grade anyway.

rollback at idle is normal, the only thing holding you there is the fluid coupling in the torque converter, the only time that the fluid is not used for power transmission is when the converter is locked up
