To all the users who have done the ISR mod on the 3.0, have you experienced pinging when not running PREMIUM (91)??

I was getting that pinging before the ISR when using reg or mid but would lose it with supr.. Now that the ISR is done I get it now and then with mid but its a goner with supr.

I never heard pinging, but I have heard of those that did. Id di get alot more power when I switched to premium. I switched back and fortha couple of times to see if it really made a difference, and it did. i run premium all of the time now.l

I had some pinging as well running the crap gas we get on the base here it's like 89 octane I think. Didn't notice if it did it much after though because I didn't drive it a whole lot before I shipped it. Whenever I ran gas from off the base though it ran sooooo much better. Too bad it's $5.50 a gallon!!

$5.50 a gallon for fuel? Ouch! Well you will be in heaven when you get to our hell in a month now. Were just shy of two bucks here.

Now, if you adjust the timing, can pinging go away without having to run on PREMIUM?

I was told by my tech that its crappy fuel were getting stuck with and changing the timing will only make it more noticable. Im not sure if that was him just trying to leave at 5PM that day or the truth. I put El SupremO in my tank yesterday and tadaa no pinging.
