Installing 3.4L Supercharger...
How difficult would it be to install S/C on my own? I've upgraded my coils and shocks myself, but have never done any engine work... Or would it be wiser to let Toyota do the work? And if so, what's the average price for S/C install?
Would anybody know any good places to install S/C in Tucson, AZ? Or maybe in Phoenix and surrounding areas?
Thanks in advance!

The S/C itself is VERY straight forward to do... about 4 hours if you're done it before, maybe 6 if you haven't.
Are you comfortable with tools? Have you done other "medium major" work on your truck yourself (like the springs in your sig)? are you doing anything else at the same time (injectors, fuel pump, etc.)?

The most challenging part to me was removing the belts. My big hands had a hard time squeezing in to loosen the alternator and steering pump. Other than that, it was pretty straight forward.

I've done shocks and springs myself. That wasn't difficult at all. I don't belive I'll be doing anything else besides S/C at the moment, maybe later...
I also talked to local Toyota dealer and they quoted me $375 for S/C install. Is that a decent price?

Like Alan said, the belts can be a pain (the tensioner for the alternator is hidden) but basically it's just all about getting a good light source, getting dirty, and keeping track of the vacuum hoses.

You can try this angle... Tell them that you can get the S/C for $1805 shipped (there's a current thread with this price) and if they will _really beat_ that price on an S/C, then you'll let them install it for $375.

[QUOTE=midiwall If you figure 4 hours for those guys, then that's $94/hour - ouch. (Biff, I feel for ya' man!)QUOTE]
Thanks Mark, at the time I was so giddy with anticipation to get the SC in that I didn't know what I was doing, I just wanted it in. Total cost was $4100

Hey Andrey... I have another angle for you!
For $375 you could buy someone a roundtrip ticket to show up at your place, install the S/C, feed them steak and beer, and STILL get change back!
biff: ahhh! I didn't notice you had a 2003...

Mike at Xtreme is somewhere around there and he is associated with a full service shop. Look him up.
You really should install the supercharger yourself. You will learn so much about it and your truck.
