Installed lift-reversed rake! (L@@K PIC)

Well I installed my lift the other day and look what I ended up with. I should have known. I didn't think I'd get that much lift up front. My front now measures 39" from fender to ground and my rear is 37". Here's what I installed.

FRONT
-Tundra TRD springs (y/y & y/b)
-1" poly top out spacer
-extended top plate studs
-Bilstein HD p/n BE5-2450(yes the lower spring cup is in right)

REAR
-2.5" poly spacer (yes, thats it)

I got the 2.5" spacer lift off eBay. My freind installed the same kit and his rear sat way higher than the front. So I thought I'd leave out the spring spacer using only the top out spacer and put the Tundra springs instead and it should be close to level. I was way off!

My plans were to leave it like this until I could get some LC coils and shocks for the rear. But now I'm afraid that the LC coils won't even be enough lift. I think I,m going to add some OME 890's to the rear along with the 2.5" spacer. That way it will ether be level or slightly raked. With a adjustable panhard bar from SS of coarse, and some LC Bilstein shocks.

Any other Ideas for the rear would be helpful.(I like the lift in front and I don't want to lower it.)

Its a 99 SR5 2WD

You've got the opposite problem I have, as my rear sits ~2" higher than the front. The front of my rig sits 37.25" above the ground and the rear is 39.25". FWIW, I have an '02 SR5 4x4 with the limited fender flares with 2.5" spacers in front and LC coils out back.

You should be just fine with LC coils for your rear lift. In fact, that might be your only option as nothing else will give you the amount of height you need. You may gain another 1.5-2" over the spacers, depending on how sagged your existing coils are. The spacers with OME's will definitely be higher than your front setup.

On a side note, since I have the opposite problem, your front lift might be the option for me as I need another 2" up front to match the LC's in the rear.

Go with some LC Coils. I got over 4inches of lift on my coils.
They were from a 1995.

When you get your coils, ask the following:
How many miles on them.
If a front aftermarket bumper was on the rig (possible sag of the LC Coils)
what year. (it seems from 91 to 95 had the taller coils 4 to 4.5 inches)...96/97 seem to give 3.5 inches of lift.

You should be able to pick up some coils for 50-75 dollars shipped.

How are your front CV angles?

I'd say the problem is simple: The Tundra Coils are somewhat longer than the stock rear coils from a 4 runner. Even the difference in the spacer size, the Tundra coils are still going to be that much longer.

Also, since it's a 2wd, you don't have the same issue with CV angles that 4WD's have.

Man that's how mine looked after I installed my tundra coils! Looks like you got some junk in the trunk!

Get some OME 890's or LC coils, that'll fix it.

It's driveable, but horrible to look at. I know, I speak from experience. I wish I would've taken a pic of mine when it was like that.

Coil spring spacers will sag your springs!!

Are those the heavier duty rear springs?? Toyota installed some heavy duty springs on my 97 to replace the old ones, they said that the older springs were too soft and would end up sag'n about 2 inches over time!! I'm not sure if your 99 has the stiffer springs in it!!

But I would go with some LC coils for sure!!

You could always take out the poly spacer out of the front!! (1/2" lower)

My Runner Measures Front = 37.5" Rear = 40" (Limited Flares)
and thats with an ARB bumper installed!!

I 've never seen a 1" spacer used in front. Most use a 3/8 spacer and that gives a 1/2" lift? If you use 94 LC coils they are 19". You should be sitting good after that. I found this on an old thread when I was putting mine on. Height/color code/wraps

21" Blue Pink White 9.25 wraps
21" Grey Orange White 9.25 wraps

20.25" Blue Yellow White 8.75 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Green Yellow White 8.25 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Purple Green White 8 wraps

19.25" Double Purple Dark Blue White 8 wraps

19" Double Pink Light Blue White 7.5 wraps

18.5" Double Pink Grey White 7.5 wraps

18 7/8" Orange Orange White 7.75 wraps

It also makes a difference how and what size your tires are, if your measuring from the ground. You'll get measurments high and low. I think the 890's may not even be enough. They supposedly give the same height as the spacer you already have. I would say LC's or get rid of the spacer if it indeed is a 1". You may even still rake with out it.

frodin1. I going to use the 890's plus the spacers I already have. I'm running 31x10.5 r15 tires.

Yes you will get different measurements! But Its the difference between them we are looking at. Tire size won't matter in that case.

It'll be up there then. Are you indeed using a 1" spacer in front or only a 3/8" spacer? Are the 890's a progressive spring? I don't know. I've got a set comming myself and people say not to use a progressive coil with a spacer.

I think they mean that you shouldn't use a progressive rate spring with a coil spacer that goes in between the spring and the top plate because it would preload the spring taking away from the progressiveness. Top out spacers and rear coil spacer should be fine with progressive springs. I also belive that the rear coils won't sag any faster with or without a spacer because its the same load either way. By the looks of it 890's are progressive.

And yes it is a 1" top out spacer. here's some pics

The TRDs are supose to give you about 1.75" of lift. (I got about 2,5", my stockers were realy sagging). A 1" top out spacer will give you about 1.35" because the spring is inboard. A 2.5" spacer in back will give you 2.5" of lift but you still have an old sagging stock spring. My back springs had sagged over 1.5". My advice is, yank out the spacers and stock springs. Replace with either LC coils or OME 891s, I'm not sure which will be the right height. You may want to go with the spacer and an OME 906 or 890. I'm told that the 891s are real stiff.

Unloaded the measurement is: Front 22.25", Rear 23". These are measured from the wheel lip to the center of the wheel cap. I have TRDs up front and 890s out back, both w/o any spacers. This should give you some reference measurements.

Damn 2wd... I wish we could get that much lift with 4wd.

2wd sit 1 inch lower than 4wd. You installed a front lift that would give you almost 3 inches to a 4wd truck, so you prolly gained 4 inches in the front of your 2wd. Then you only put a 2.5 inch spacer in the rear.

I would suggest the OME's that lift it 3 inches to try and level it out.

All you gotta do is move to SoCal. Then, you'd be really cool like all the other guys who ride around with their trucks lifted 6" up front, and -3" in the back!!!

This one guy told me the other day: "Sweet truck bro!" Im like, "hey, man, thanks"... then he said "Just one thing... you should really lower the rear on it though.."

Sat there, wondering. So ... what would be the point of that?

Cox, you had tundra coils and a 1" spacer up front on a 2WD vehicle, what did you expect.
You'll need a set of LC coils (and maybe a rear spacer) at least to level that thing out again.
