Info wanted on oil filter relocation kits

Having to pull the front skid plate off my 3rd gen is a bigger PITA than it was on my 2nd gen and, even with extended oil change frequencies with synthetic, I'm still changing my oil filter almost every 2 months. I'm considering a relocation kit.

I've seen the Perma-Cool relocation kit in the P.P. catalog for $59.95.
  1. Are there better kits out there?
  2. Is that a decent price?
  3. Where is a good place to mount the filter?
  4. Did you change to a larger filter?

as a rule of thumb, anything that'll work on a ford engine will work for a toyota one. i use a wix 1515 filter for my engines, which is a ford FL1A filter.

Thanks, guys. Are the Perma-Cool kit's hoses long enough to mount at a suitable place in the 3.4L 3rd gen or sould I assume I'll be modifying it with longer hoses? The add in the P.P. catalog states that it adds almost a quart to your oil capacity. Since it doesn't come with a filter, I assume thats the oil volume in the additional hose supplied with the kit.

I didn't want to mess with the PP kit so I just ordered the spin on adapter and filter relocation part that are used in the PP kit, and used my own fittings and hoses. It was a hole lot cheaper than the PP kit.
