Inclinometer Mounting

I got my inclinometer this weekend and found a place to mount it, but it was a PITA. I used plexiglass which I painted to mask the cubby hole near the shifter, drilled holes in the back of the cubby hole to mount the main unit, and mounted the light in the back. I also had to put new decals on it, there is no way I was going to have a Jip on it.

cubuff,

i've decided to make my first fiberglass project a DIN sized box for my JDM clinometer. I took the measurements this afternoon.

Seeing that you have a free DIN, have you thought about that? Fab'g something to contain your clinometer?

Woo Woo!!!

I just got one on ebay. It's for a Nissan but it doesn't say Nissan on it.

I've been watching the bids on these lately and some have been going for $80-$100

There is another one on ebay for a Toyota...

Here's another one with a car on it...

Bob, have you made any progress with the fiber glass box???

I'm trying to find a way to mount mine. The housing for this on is too deep for my Runners dash and I don't have any free Din Slots.

inclinometer

Greetings i just got one from the same guy. Chaser Tourer He posts on 4x4Wire.com as CDuff. I paid $60 total this included shipping. This guy is good people. The emails were prompt and polite, shipping was fantastic and the product was super cool. It does have a 4 rnr pic on it, I drive a truck, but if i squint hard it looks like my truck with the topper. It came with all of the hardware to mount and even had the Toyota wiring, both ends included.

The inclinometer has the pitch and roll feature and measures altitude in meters. Only goes to 9000 meters, no biggie.

CDuff told me that he scrounges the junkyards everyweek and sells what he finds. He is in the Navy and the whole process was quick and easy.

ALBPM,

Nope, i have not made any progress on the fiberglass box. I put this one on hold for the Satoshi grill mod.

However, I've gone as so far as to make some measurements:

7" wide
2" tall
4.5" to 6'5" deep

This is my next project (that I can do---got the sliders to have welded on) and its something that I can do fairly quickly.

Bob

I agree!!! You can trust his description of the merchandise. My inclinometer is in excellent shape and shipping was very fast.

cubuff,

I noticed that in your pic the ashtray/change drawer is ajar. Mine always does this under normal driving conditions and offroad it opens all the way. Anyone else experience this or figured out how to fix it?

There is a way to fix it you just have to be careful. I piece of metal runs along the ashtray and over a little ridge which is suposed to hold it in place; however the ridge isn't big enough, especially if you are like me and use it for change. I used my dremel to cut a bigger dimple in it where the metal stops when closed, and then bent the metal piece out a little. The only problem is I cut the dimple about 1/4" off from where I was supposed to, so the ashtray sticks out about a 1/4"or so, but it never slides out even when 4wheeling.
