I'm thinking about buying my old 4runner back... what are y'alls thoughts..

*I didnt know where to put this and just wanted some opinions... if its in the wrong place, my apologies*

Im contemplating buying my old 4runner back.. I sold my white z planning on getting an ls1, but when it comes down to it, a part of me wants to not take out a loan(I would have to to get the ls1). My 4runner has been for sale pretty much since a month after I sold it to the guy*5-6months (I think he bought it just for spring break. He was in a rush to get it and I saw it at the coast and right after he was trying to sell it).

Heres a thread from when I first bough it(dirty pics).. I had it for about a month and a half and then sold it.

and heres a few pics of it cleaned up right before I got rid of it.. the hood/roof is sitll messed up, but he got 2 new front tires and did some ac work onit. and the interior is in "fair" shape. it has 116k on it. and it got 12-13mpg and I had to go 50-55mph on the highway, any faster scared the out of me with those tires. but for some reason I somewhat miss the car. what do you guys think?

12-13mpg, is everything alright with it? My friends have more miles on there runners and getting around 20mpg.

If i missed it and i would buy it back, and then take off those thornturds and get some real tires. That would certainly help with gas mileage, and highway would be no problem. Just make sure you buy it for less than you sold it.

I sold it for 6.5k he'd sell it back for 5k... and ya im sure the wheels/tires I had on it made a difference in my mpg.. but they looked so damn good IMO... I had a set of 06 trd tundra wheels/tires, but could never get myself to put them on the 4runner LOL.

If you want an aggressive looking tire, that rides good on the road go with a mud terrain, or some nice all terrains, just not the thornbirds. Then you should be good to go.

I have seen your truck on craigslist. Nice truck. I bought back a truck, but it was 11 years later and I had to pay more than what I sold it for so its kind of a different situation than what you are thinking about doing.
I would wonder why he only held on to it for a short time. Did he buy it and screw something up? That would be my biggest concern.

Check it out and if he wants to sell it and you want to buy it, go for it.
