I'm in the market for some LC Coils

I have come to the conclusion that a 2.5 inch spacer on top of ten+ year old 96 runner rear springs is garbage! They sag and sometimes don't look level.

So, i'm planning on getting some Land Cruiser front coils to lift the back up. I'm looking for around three inches of lift over stock hight but would be happy with 3-3.5.

I just want to be sure I get the right springs from the right year LC. After much searching it seems that thier is more than one size coil on the front of the LC.

My questions are....

A. How many wrapps on the coil should i look for?

B. What color markings do i need?

3. How long should they measure off of the truck?

Any info would be great!

Thanks
Tron

OK... I recently installed mine and i wish i had gotten these questions answer before...

The size coils you want for 3-3.5 is a 7.5 wrap coil i believe that measure in the neightborhood of 18.75 inches... I got the longer ones with about 8.5 wraps and are 20 inches and i got about 4.5 inches out back, so beware of those. Dont know the color markings, but im sure if you search you can find that out easily.

Thats a start.... A chime in on color code would help.

Bear80 has a set that he wants to sell but he counted 9 and 9 1/2 wraps on them. I'm afraid that they are waaay too big.

I've been loking for them for a while. LC coil part numbers 48131-6A570 Double purple /grey /white and 48131-6A480 Green, orange /white. I found that the LX450 coils actually have the same part numbers but alot of people say they are not the same as the early 92-95 coils. Toyota oem parts online has them for 135. new free shipping. I'm thinking of going that route myself. Goodluck!

I've had my springs sitting around for nearly two years now. Now that I'm thinking about putting them on I found a slight rub:

7.5 coils
19.25"
purple/purple, blue, white

perhaps they're just not settled. Plan is to put them on, drive them around for a few weeks and cut them if need be. now I'm wondering if I got two drivers.

I am under the impression that LX450 coils are not the same as LC coils. I just measured my '97 LX450 coils and here's what I found:

RF-8 wraps GRN YEL WHT 19 5/8
LF-8 wraps BLU YEL WHT 20 1/4
RR- 5.5 wraps BLU BLU ORG 17 3/4
LR- 5.5 wraps GRY GRY GRY 18 1/2

Hope this helps

LX's aren't the same according to alot of guys. I found a link into ih8mud and a guy put both on.The LX's sat a full inch shorter that the early LC's. But like I said before. If you do a search on 97' LX450 front coils for price, I came up with the same part numbers that I posted earlier. I've gotten about fifty people willing to sell me LX450's and 2 people that have the 92' LC coils just laying around.

good call on that thread. There is much more detailed info on the wraps - but I thought I'd repost w/o permission one of the posts. Again, not my info but it does explain my 19" coils.

Height/color code/wraps

21" Blue Pink White 9.25 wraps
21" Grey Orange White 9.25 wraps

20.25" Blue Yellow White 8.75 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Green Yellow White 8.25 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Purple Green White 8 wraps

19.25" Double Purple Dark Blue White 8 wraps

19" Double Pink Light Blue White 7.5 wraps

18.5" Double Pink Grey White 7.5 wraps

18 7/8" Orange Orange White 7.75 wraps
