I need a roof rack!

okay so I have a 99 toyota 4runner highlander edition. For some reason though I do not have a roof rack at all, I have these plastic rails which are obviously just for show, they have 0 function and you cant do anything to them.

So im wondering what I should do? i want a roof rack so I can carry some snowboards and maybe a kayak in the near future... Should I go with getting a stock roof rack put on through toyota? or should I look at some yakima rails and what not? Any info appreciated... I would really like some yakima roof rails or w/e but all of the different parts confuses me and Im uncertain which to buy because of it

Yakima's website walks you through it step by step making it really simple on the parts you need to buy. Be ready to spend some coin though!

I have a rack from Wilderness Racks. Its a solid rack. I've had it for about 6 years or so. I use it to carry my kayak, mnt bike, and whatever else I can throw up there.
