I cant adjust my TPS (Pic on why)

Ive followed instuctions from my haynes manual & from some other internet info & cant understand why i have this situation.
You see my Throttle assemble is upsidedown compared to anything ive have seen in the manuals etc.
I Cant possibly get Feeler gauges to gap the throttle stop because its under the springs & stuff(see pic)

How do yours look, is the throttle stop on the top of this mechanisum
How can i accuratly adjust the TPS.

Look on the other side of the intake tube. There you should see a spot where you can put your feeler guage. Thats what I did.

Yeah, the throttle stop is on the other side of the t-body. Let us know how it goes. I just tried to adjust mine and I'm not sure if it's right.

The TPS is adjustable. There is a black electrical peice on the other side of the throttle body that is the TPS. You loosen the screws and turn it slightly that's how you adjust the TPS.

I found it difficult to adust the TPS on the truck, so I ended up removing the TB and adjusting it on the bench. Made it much easier and afforded me the opportunity to clean everything, just make sure you have a spare TB gasket.

You think you're pissed now? Wait till you get the sumbitch taken all apart and you still can't get the ˟˟˟˟˟er adjusted right. Sorry, I know that's not helping, but it's what happened to me the other day.

It's almost impossible to adjust properly with the throttle body still attached.

Mine was held on with phillips screws. Yes they were hard to break but I finally got it. Try hitting them with some penetrating oil and see if that helps.

Good Luck

unfortunately that wont help as the phillips pattern on the screw head is now just a round hole.

Drill the heads off the screws, take out what's left with pliers and replace with stainless screws.
Be sure to add grease to the stainless threads because they may bind otherwise.
