Howto on checking/setting timing

I searched and didn;t find anything. Is there a how to on checking or setting timing. I have the 3.4 in a 2001 TR4.

You can check the timing marks on your timing belt, but the computer controls the engine's ignition timing. You can also verify what the current advance is on the engine by using a timing light but it's alot easier just to use a higher end OBD scanner like an Auterra or similar to view current advance via the ECU instead.

Thanks - iwas afraid it was more complicated than I wanted. Luckily I don't have any reason to suspect timing is out except that it has been 7 years. Gonna dig out my cheap HF scanner and see if it has enough functions to look at the timing
