How hard is it to remove rear door panel?
I need to get to the locking mechanism in my passenger side back door, the lock button got bent crooked when my truck was jam packed for a camping trip. It still goes up and down, but it started to give me trouble the other day, plus it looks like this \
I'm not sure what I should do once I get it open, except maybe bend it back to straight. Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks

Not very difficult at all to remove that door panel, here is a link to a 1997 4runner panel removal... It's for the front doors but the back ones come out pretty much the same way... I can't imagine the 1999 model is much different... The locking mechanism should bend back in place with a little force. Good luck.

Rob,
Alternatively, go to the last page in my sound deadening write up:

Its very easy but the hardest part is getting this little piece of plastic off of the door latch rod.
