How hard do you drive you 4Runner?

I drive mine hard 50% of the time. I just love hearing that throaty sound from the intake. I pay for it in fuel but still do it. How do you guys N gals drive your rigs?

I tend to give it 3/4 to full gas towards the end of 2nd and 3rd gear. I love hearing a deep roar and then it kick down as I shift. That and I don't like shifting too low in speed and get bogged down, so romping on it gets me to that fast speed... well, faster

I drive some what hard, but try to control myself. I just love punching the gas and hearing the "roar".

Actually, like 8 months back, I taped a sticky note to my steering wheel in big bold letters: "SLOW DOWN." For some reason I was accelerating all fast... atleast I tried to, poor little 4cylinder of mine.

I used to take it really easy on her...by that I mean not going above about 3k on the tach, only when going up hills when I shift down to 1st on the auto tranny or getting on the highway and having to cruise at a higher speed cause of traffic. But lately I've been drivin a little harder because I'm getting sick of the slow acceleration...now I keep it below like 4k which seems like a lot to me. I dunno...but it is definately hard on the fuel! OH BOY!

1st gear to 20mph
2nd gear to 40mph
3rd gear to 65mph

then stick it in 4th if im cruising around at 50 or so, or 5th if im on the freeway going 80 or so.

Im thinking thats pretty hard, foot is on the floor entire time, heh no wonder i get 10miles a gallon.

But hey you know im 19 and invincible, ive survived one rollover at 50mph already (i wasnt driving) I can do another. But seriously i am cautious i just like getting up to speed fast, well as fast as my 3.0 can take me.

It totally varies from day to day. One day I will get on it all the time, the very next I will just cruise. All depends on my mood.

Ditto. Except mine is a truck, not a 4Runner.

I've been "gittin on it" the last week 'cause I just did the deckplate mod.

I would have to agree with the mood response...It does depend on my mood. Sometimes I wanna go fast, others I just want to gradually make my way around simply enjoying my Yota!!

I have a pickup with the 3.slow and 190,000 miles on it, and it's always been taken care of. I try to never take it above 3,000RPM, and very rarely to 4,000RPM, I cruise at around 75-80mph on the highway when the road permits though.

I've never understood the point of driving a 4x4 hard (Cayenne turbo doesn't count) on the street. If I wanted to have fun, I would take my turbo Eclipse out, and the boost would take care of everything (but that's sold now and all I have is my Yota )
