Not that difficult. I didn't actually remove the whole thing, but I removed all the kick panels and rear quarter panels and the carpet just comes right up. You'll have to unbold the seats if you want to get in there too. The only are I'm not sure about is the console.

yeah, unbold the seats and maybe put them in italics or use a really big font. I'm just teasing you Erc. Actually I'm glad you said that because I was wondering the same. I didn't want to have to replace any snaps or risk tearing the carpeting. thanks

its not that hard at all.just make sure to mark or remember which seat bolts came from what spot.you have to also take out the door sill panels,and front kick panels.but really not that hard,you'll be amazed at all the crap that you will find under the carpet!! good luck.

should be just a matter of removing everything that is in the way of getting it out. My guess would be seats, maybe some interior panels...hmmm a few other things...shouldnt be too hard

I installed some better speaker wire today. I had to take out all the panelling that laps over the carpeting. the doorsteps, kick panels, and that panel between the doors. I also noticed under the front doorstep there is a plastic piece stapled to the carpet and snapped into the floor board. then there were some velcros up under the dash. the kick panels have a flange that goes through a slit in the carpeting so they both have to be removed unless you slit it to the end. the console also has to be 86'd. I also replaced the manual tranny shift lever bushing and seat since I had the console apart. man it's like a new tranny! shifts great and hardly any place while in gear.

what about the electrical outlet in the back any thing special need to be done there???

mine is one the panel so I just pulled the panel and stuck my hand behind it and unplugged it. when I pulled the panel off I left the seatbelt strap in it and just rotated it out of the way because I was to lazy to remove the belt mount so the panel would come out. when I put in dampening, however, I'll take it all completely out.

Sorry about bringing up such an old thread...i'm in the process of taking my carpet out and everything is out except for the little footrest "dead pedal" where your left foot rests...it looks like it has two caps that cover up two screws or bolts but i dunno how to pop, unscrew the caps...can neone help me on this one??

i'm still in need of knowing how to remove this piece...i'm gonna go pick at it some more...if neone knows how to get the thing out lemme know...i'm sure it's amazingly simple i just don't wanna go about it by snatching and such just to end up breaking it...

and of course....it's extremely easy...all you do is take a large flat screwdriver...stick it in the grips on the pedal and unscrew them :pat: mine had mud down in them makin them hard to turn after like 1 1/2 turns and i was scared i was gonna break'em...but newayz...if you didn't know u do now

^^^^^^ like he said. You have to use a flat head screwdirver to loosen them and then pry it off the floor. The clips usually break so make a trip to the wrecker and pick 2 more up. They never tighten down the way they used to but it isn'y very loose either. Over time you don't notice it.

i haven't personally used the brown bread but have heard good things about it...supposed to be better than dynamat and a helluva lot cheaper
