Hood Scoops

Where can I get a pretty cheap, easy to install hood scoop. I just want the looks...I don't think I have any need to cut the hood or anything to make it more functional.

What do you guys think of just getting and aftermarket scoop?

Thanks,

Fink

Too bad you don't own a 96-02 4runner cause you can just buy a sport replacement hood for pretty cheap (like $150 + S&H). Then the toughest part is getting all the paint to match OEM.

Well a while ago I saw a Civic driving around with a sunroof deflector turned around on his hood. I'm sure that is great for aerodynamics too.

Sounds like that will only work 3rd gens that already have the scoop.

I just need something I can easily attach to my hood...nothing extravagant...I don't want the whole hood. Preferable something already black...I have heard of scoops that can be taped on or screwed on.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the link wabbit...I just wish I had a 3rd Gen

I've seen the hood scoops that you just attach to your exhisting hood for like $145. I can't remember any of the sites right now but if you do a search on google for them I'm sure you can find something. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

No, you helped. I just wanted to get a rough idea of what they would cost.

Sounds like from 150-200 for one...thats more than I was hoping for. Hmm...I'll just have to wait and see how fast the $$$ comes in when I get a new job...

Have UKMeyers give you the email address for the guy who did the 3.4L swap and ask him what he did.
I think his came out pretty good don't you think?

Lund makes all kinds of truck stuff. Vent shades, bug guards, etc. They have probably 100 kinds of scoops to choose from. I don't have any references for you though. Pick up a Truckin' magazine. I'm sure you'll find stuff in there. I'm honestly against the idea of having one stuck on though. They're scoops so air gets under them and you run the risk of having it fly off when you're on the interstate. I've seen that happen by the way. Even the car bra things can fly off. That happened to a friend of mine. If you really want one, I would say have it welded somehow, or fastened with more than just adhesive. Maybe run a few bolts on the inside where it's not so prevalent.

My brother put one like this on his 94 pickup. It doesn't look too bad. I'll get pics when I have a chance.

Thanks for all the links and advice...I need to get my finances under control. After that will be getting my grill guard installed and then my manifold leak fixed. Then some Rock Crawlers and Aisins...then the hood scoop or tinting. Not sure what yet though.

Anyway, I appreciate the help. I know what I'll be getting once the cash flow increases

Thanks again.
