Question Hitch Recommendation for '02 4x4 Xtra Cab

Greetings All!

Finally have a need to put a hitch on my '02 4x4 Xtra Cab and looking for suggestions and warnings. Seems like the most popular receiver hitches are Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, and Reese. And all offerings appear to use existing mounting holes and bolts ("no drill"). So the questions:

1) Is "no drill" the way to go?

2) Any brand better than another? Any brand worse than another?

Yup, I realize this is sort of like asking "who is your favorite football team," but somethimes you just gotta ask!

Thanks!

Look on craigslist for people selling their stock hitches. They can often be had for under $100 and will bolt up easily.

My stock hitch had some inserts in the frame that seemed to be strips of steel with nuts welded to them for the bolts to go into from the hitch, be sure to get those if you buy a stock hitch. Also, FYI, I was washing my 4runner and when I hit the hitch with the pressure washer the metal on the hitch disintegrated because it rusted out so bad on the inside. It's been off for about 4 years now, I plan on integrating a hitch on a rear bumper build in the next year. Just make sure you look over any used hitch really well for rust, I'd hate to see you put one on and have it fail due to rust.

I bought a hitch (class 3) for my wifes durango from this place... http://www.pickupspecialties.com/index.htm
Real happy with it and Install was drill free and faily easy. So far it seems like a real sturdy hitch

It all depends on who sells what local!!

I see so many mistakes in things like that bought on line .

Parts in the correct box that are wrong.

What are you planning on dragging around How much weight??

Are you planning a after Market bumper may as well do it all at once.

I have been installing hitches for 30 plus years I had all the different ones come with miss drilled holes at times .
