Help with RPM's after throttle body cleaning
Hey guys. I have a question about engine idle and my RPM’s. I have a 1999 4Runner 4x4 with a 5VZ-FE engine and I recently had a check engine light come on and when I took it to AutoZone to get the code read they said it was a MAF sensor light. I proceeded to clean the MAF sensor by following the instructions on 4runners.org but I also decided to clean the throttle body while I was at it. When I got done and started the truck my RPM’s shot up to like 2000 which was not normal. When I put it in drive it just shot forward without me pressing the accelerator.
So I drove it for a while and the MAF engine light went off and the RPM seem to have gone back to normal but I’m not sure. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?
2200 RPM at 70mph
2000 RPM at 65mph
1800 RPM at 55mph
About 600 RPM at idle while in the drive gear.
I checked my gas mileage and I’m getting about 18mpg highway which seems low because I think I was getting 20 before.
Is there anything I can do to the computer or to a sensor to maybe reset it?
Thanks for your help.

So let's just concentrate on your idle problem while not in gear. Is it still around 2K, even when warm?
