Help Pick Tires for Tunda Wheels on 4runner!

Guys I have a manual trans 4wd 98 v6 4runner.

I picked up a set of tundra wheles for it and want to buy tires.

I'd like to get tires that don't throw off my speedo too bad, that don't hurt my gas mileage, that don't make road noise.

I trailor my boat with the 4 runner and want something safe and that gets great traction, especially in the rain.

I would like for them to look a little agressive but without compromising all of the things I mentioned. Should I get something a little taller and/or wider?
What are the proper sizes for the tundra wheels on my 4runner?

Thanks again!

I have 265/70 big o Bigfoot tires. Small amount of rubbing at full flex and turn. No lift.

What year 4runner do you have? Wasnt 99 higher than all the other years and the rest are about the same height? Is your speedometer off?

What brand are your (big o Bigfoot tires)?

Thanks for your help here

2000 limited. There are places on the web to figure out change in speedo differences. I may be off by a mile or so depending on the speed. The brand is Big O. American made, I think they are made by a well known tire company. I have used and trashed a couple other brands in the high desert of nevada. These are doing well so far. Road noise is not a concern for me, so I can't answer that.

99 was higher. I'm trying to convince my wife that that is what I need. Before the rest of the suspension fails.

There were only a handful of threads I could find. Most people suggested BFG all terrains and the only other size I saw used was 265/65/17 if you are rubbing with 70 then 65 would probably be a better choice.

How do these sizes translate into what people call 30s or 33s etc?

I have the BFGs and am considering the general grabber aT2, very similar at a great price. As far as sizing goes, some tires run larger or smaller depending on the model, the BFGs tend to run small. 265/70 was factory size on some models and is considered a 31", 265/75 is generally a 32" and 285/75 a 33". There are of course other combinations. a size converter helps http://tire-size-conversion.com/
you should be able to run a 265/70 with stock suspension if it's not sagging. 265/75 can be done, but you will rub. I have no experience with the tundra wheels I just wanted to pass on tire info. I currently run 265/75's on stock suspension with slight rubbing but not bad, my wheels are spaced out an extra 1" though. good luck and check out those at2's

We ran the at2s before the big o tires as stock size. Pretty decent. They seemed to wear uneven tire to tire. They have about 25000 miles on them now.

I also wonder how far off my speedo would be because of going up to 17s if I maintain the same tire size.
right now I have stock tire sizes on 16s.
