Help!!New wheels/tires are rubbing BFG AT 16x8 265x75/15

friend just bought wheels for a newly lifted 2001 runner. OME 881 upfront and . 16x8 unknown backspacing with 265x75x16 BFG AT's brand spanking new from Discount Tire Co. They are rubbing the rear of the front wheel wells on the plastic. He just put the lift on and the wheels and tires. Please hook up the skinny on what to do to cure this issue. Should we have gotten different rim size? I think we should be able to at least clear this with his current setup. Opinions and pics welcome...

Remove the valance or fab it up to clear the tires.

Sounds like you need to pound the pinch weld flat.

Lets stop and think a bit. 265/75's fit WITHOUT ANY LIFT assuming it's 4wd. I'm willing to bet his backspacing is way off. Take those wheels back and have them find some that fit! Ie: 4.25-4.5" BS.

Please tell me you didn't trade your stock wheels in!

I am interested if you still have them. Let me know.

I am running 265/75/16 Dueler MTs w/ no lift and no rubbing period! NONE! Not even turning into my steep incline driveway or going over the mega deep curbs at work to get into the parking lot.

For the record my 265/75/16's rubbed at full turn at stock height on stock wheels. So it is possible (even without a backspacing problem).

After the 1" BL it was gone of course.

It is a backspacing problem as already mentioned...

265/70/16 is stock on most of the new ones, 75's aren't but maybe an inch or so taller.

I often put 275/70's to upgrade people without any problems at all
